DANETTE LORRAINE DUBOIS (CLARE) May 22, 1969 - August 13, 2007 On August 13, 2007, following a courageous battle with breast cancer, Danette Lorraine Dubois (Clare) passed away peacefully. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Allan and Simone Clare, Uncle Martin Clare, and long term love, Wally. She is survived by her precious daughters, Pascale Clare Dubois and Simone Clare Dubois, parents, Diane Clare and John E Dubois, brother John RayAl Dubois (her Bro), auntie Linda (Nick), uncle Paul Clare (Donna), cousins, Garth Adams (Connie), Keith Adams (Bonnie), Shannon Clare (Jeff), Jeffery Clare (Kristen), Tim Clare and Patrick Clare, education colleagues, and special friends, Kelly, Amanda, Cindy, Laurie, and Cara. Danette was born on May 22, 1969, residing in Winnipeg all her life. She attended St. Charles Academy, John Taylor Collegiate, and graduated with a BEd from the University of Manitoba in 1998. Danette was currently employed as an educator at the Maples Collegiate. She loved her profession and all her students developing a unique affinity and relationship with many. She faced her illness with strength and courage while caring for others. Danette was a generous soul who volunteered freely of her time with Winnipeg Police Victim Services, Manitoba Corrections, children's sports and fundraising. She loved and valued her Aboriginal roots, discovering, learning, and teaching others about the culture. Danette was never silent on issues of injustice, prejudice, and discrimination including speaking against all concerns related to children's safety. Many thanks to all who helped the family in every way during this painful and stressful time. Great appreciation is expressed to the doctors and nurses who cared for Danette during her illness. She will be greatly missed and will leave a void that will never be filled. Sleep in peace, dear Danette, woman, daughter, mother, auntie, cousin, colleague and friend. Flowers gratefully declined. A celebration of her life will be held at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons Street, on August 16 at 1:30 p.m., followed by a reception.
