ROBERT PIERRE JOSEPH BADIOU Peacefully at the Boundary Trails Hospital on Sunday, August 12, 2007, surrounded by his family, Mr. Robert Badiou of Notre Dame de Lourdes, Manitoba, passed away at the age of 74 years. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Annette; six sons: Guy (Monique), Ronald (Jackie), Noël (Charles), André (Henriette), Marc (Louise) and Albert; 18 grandchildren: Marcelle, Simon, Méline, Cathrine, Rosealie, Jules, David, Michel, Elise, Lucas, Angeline, Daniel, Lucette, Claude, Joël, Jilliane, Daphnée and Kasia. He also leaves to mourn in passing four sisters: Yvette Simon, Marcelle (Pierre) Magne, Yvonne (Joseph) Pelé, Thérèse (Antoine) Charrière and one brother Pierre (Denise) Badiou; a few remaining uncles and aunts; and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Auguste and Blanche (née Lesage); and by one brother-in-law Isidore Simon. Dad was born August 14, 1932, in Notre Dame de Lourdes. He married Annette (née Deleurme) on October 5, 1957. He farmed all of his life and never fully retired after moving to town because he enjoyed it so much. Dad was a very strong and generous person; he was always ready to lend a helping hand to his family, friends and neighbours. He had a passion for cards and would play anything, anytime, with anyone, from bridge, samba and 500 with his friends, to crotte de poule with his grandchildren. Dad had a great sense of humour and often teased the people he loved with his trademark grin and hearty laughter. He also enjoyed camping, fishing and sitting around a fire with glass in hand, recounting his childhood and other stories from the olden days like when he had to walk six miles in three feet of snow to get to school. Dad loved his family dearly and cherished every minute spent with his wife, children and grandchildren. We will miss you, Dad; you will remain in our hearts forever. With respect for his wishes, cremation has taken place. Funeral mass will be celebrated in the Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church on Friday, August 17, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. Private family interment to follow in the Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, 700-10665 Jasper Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T5J 3S9. Adam's Funeral Home of Notre Dame de Lourdes, Manitoba in care of arrangements. Phone 248-2201 or 1-888-400-2326. www.afh.ca
