HOLLIS DALE OSBORNE January 16, 1936 - August 10, 2007 Peacefully on August 10 at the Poseidon Care Centre, Dale set sail on his final journey. Dale was born in Brome, Quebec. He is survived by his wife Anita of 43 years; daughters Robin of Winnipeg, Debra (Michael) of Coquitlam, BC; son Tyler of Burnaby, BC; and two grandchildren Shaleigh and Jakob; brother Terry (Cheryl) of Gatineau, Quebec, sister-in-law Margurite Marginet (Alberic), Wilf Gatin (Bev), Maurice Gatin (Lorraine), as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Norman and Marjorie, sister Norma, brother Ronald and sister-in-law Catherine. Dale joined the R.C.M.P. in December 1954 and did his training in Regina. He was posted in Ste. Rose, Flin Flon, Lynn Lake, Winnipeg Drugs, Amaranth, Melita and Thunder Bay. He retired from the R.C.M.P. in 1980. He moved back to Winnipeg and worked for the provincial government in the Farm Land Ownership Department. Dale retired from the provincial government in 1994. Dale was involved with the legion in Thunder Bay as well as St. James Br. No. 4 in Winnipeg. The family would like to give special thanks to Poseidon Care Centre for their loving care to Dale in his time of need, as well as their support to the family. A celebration of Dale's life will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, August 18, 2007. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to Poseidon Care Centre, in care of Liz Campbell, Program Manager, 70 Poseidon Bay, Winnipeg, MB R3M 3E5.
