Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMYRTLE GLADYS TAYLOR (nee SWAIN) Sadly Mom passed away on August 12, 2007 at the Health Sciences Centre. She was born on October 28, 1921 in Winnipeg. She married Ron Taylor on January 17, 1940. They built a good life together - a nice home, their dream cottage at Lakeshore Heights where many good times were shared with family and friends. Myrt was predeceased by Ron in 1982. Survived by her daughters, Diane Green and Joyce Urbanietz (Ben); grandchildren, Laurie-Lynn Green and Lee-Ellen Green; great-grandson Rheal Painchaud. Her sister Ivy Passey; brother Ken Swain and many nieces and nephews. Also, her special cocker spaniel dog, Candy. Myrt mainly created a home for her family but when there was a need, she worked for short periods outside of the home. Her most memorable was at the Post Office during the Christmas Rush. For many years she truly enjoyed her Monday afternoon bowling. She was the secretary of West End Memorial Women's Bowling League for those years. She loved talking politics, took great pride in her garden, enjoyed the Bombers an always had a crossword going. When her daughters married she welcomed their mates into her life as her own sons, and was saddened by the passing of son-in-law, Wayne Green in 1990. Myrt was able to maintain her independence and stay in her own home due to the great help of Diane, Laurie and Greg Klippenstein. Thanks to Health Sciences Centre Staff of the C.C.U. and GD5. If desired, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 20, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Thomson Funeral Home 669 Broadway 783-7211
