Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTANLEY NORMAN SHORTING (STANDO) November 18, 1953 - August 14, 2007 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one, Stanley Shorting. With his family by his side, Stanley entered into God's arms for love and rest, after a lengthy battle with his illness. Stanley leaves behind to cherish his memory: his loving sisters, Edith (George) Shorting, Cheryl (Augustine) Keeper, Florence, Violet and Celia Raven; nephew Steven Raven; stepchildren, Wanda and Richard Kent; aunt Mary Tait (Nick) Grisdale; uncle Stanley (Margaret) Tait; numerous family members, cousins and many friends. Stanley was predeceased by: his wife Olive Kent; parents Margaret and Thomas Shorting; grandparents Christina Letander (Tait), Henry and Emma Shorting; sister Rose Shorting (Raven); aunts, Priscilla Glucky, Christine Pruden and Jemima Sanderson. Stanley loved to travel and visit his family and friends, especially Lucy Prudern, Gerald and Clifford Shorting and Jerry Sumner. Baseball, hunting and working on cars was Stanley's greatest joy. He enjoyed watching and listening to sports. Stanley will be truly missed by his family and friends and all that knew him. A special thanks to all the family and friends that gave so much love and support during this difficult time, also to the St. Boniface MICU doctors and nurses, to the Seven Oaks Hospital nurses Irmy and Elaine and an extended thanks to homecare nurses Kevin, Tim and Lovey Hildabrat and health care aides Karen and Allison. Wake services will be held Friday, August 17, 2007, and Saturday, August 18, 2007, at 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 19, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. All the services will be held at the Little Saskatchewan Pentecostal Church, Little Saskatchewan, Manitoba, with Pastor Gerald Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at the Little Saskatchewan Community Cemetery.
