LESLIE BELL Les Bell passed away on Wednesday, August 15, 2007, at the Deer Lodge Centre. He will be greatly missed by his wife Olive, children Wendy (Andrew) Jensen, Lawrence (Miriam) Bell, grandchildren Christopher Bell and Kathryn Bell, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Born on the farm in Saskatchewan, he moved to Winnipeg at the age of 5 years, where he lived the rest of his life. He served as a navigator in the Air Force, during the war, then obtained a degree in engineering from the University of Manitoba. He worked for many years at Manitoba Bridge and briefly at Chicago Blower, specializing in welding. In 1951, he married Olive Smith; they enjoyed many happy years together in West Kildonan and at the cottage in Winnipeg Beach. Dad's hands were never idle. He was a gardener and a handyman all his life. For several years he was band instructor for the Margaret Park Drum and Bugle Corps. He was always occupied with a variety of activities from wood working to knitting, crocheting, tatting and quilting. In all he did, he tried to do his best. Special thanks to Dr. Clayton Dyck, April and the staff at the Kildonan Medical Centre for their continuous care and attention. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home. Arrangements entrusted to: Glen Eden Funeral Home 4477 Main Street 338-7111
