BERNICE OEHLERS Bernice Oehlers passed away on August 15, 2007 at the Teulon Hunter Memorial Hospital, at the age of 74. In accordance with her wishes, a private graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 18. Bernice was born on the family farm November 27, 1932 to parents Mike and Frances Benn. She received her education at Stacpoole School. Her career consisted of various jobs such as cashier, waitress, sewing machine operator and a great cook, but her heart was always back on the farm, especially in regards to the cattle. She never missed an opportunity to assist brother Merlin, be it checking cattle in the pasture during summer or keeping an eye on cows in calving season. In November of 1957 Bernice married Gunther Oehlers and they were a loving couple until Gunther's passing in 1995. Bernice was predeceased by her husband Gunther; her parents, Mike and Frances Benn; two brothers, John and Walter; her sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Peter Kwasny; her in-laws Mr. and Mrs. Oehlers; brothers-in-law, Stephen Dychuk and Vince Munro; sister-in-law Pat Oehlers, and niece Dorothy St. Amant. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Merlin and Ruth Benn of Teulon; sisters, Tillie Dychuk of Teulon and Helen Munro of Westbourne; brother and sister-in-law Karl and Jan Oehlers of Lockport; as well as several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews; very special friends, Julie Hodge and Shirley Kletke, as well as many other friends.
