DONALD GERALD (JERRY) BILODEAU Jerry was born June 16th, 1937 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He died of complications from a stroke August 11th, 2007 at St. Boniface Hospital while comforted with love and care from Barbara, Ken, Judi and Mark. He is survived by his nephews Bob Pallot (Roxanne), and Tom Pallot Vancouver, great-niece Crystal (Kevin) and great-great-niece Aspen of Victoria; brother-in-law Ron Collett Montreal, sister-in-law Blaire Collett Toronto, niece Christie Darville (George) Toronto; nephew John Collett (Eva) Montreal, and first wife Barbara Bilodeau-Shumeley (Avi) with whom he remained close. Jerry was predeceased by his brother Robert Bilodeau, parents Gladys and Jerome Bilodeau, brother-in-law Jim Pallot and sister Mrytle Pallot. Jerry was a star athlete excelling in every sport he played - football, tennis, squash, golf, and pool - and in the early years, volleyball at Grand Beach. After a beginning career in sales and volunteer football coaching he returned to University as a mature student. He acquired his Phys Ed Degree and taught and mentored students in School Division No. 1 the values and skills of physical exercise and sports. He took special interest in these children and hosted an annual Christmas lunch celebration. He will be remembered by his colleagues and students as a very special teacher who was funny, friendly, and fair. He will also be sadly missed by family and a host of friends from across his life span. Special recognition and thanks to the staff at SBGH McEwen Centre and 5E Unit your knowledge, care and compassion is exceptional.
