PETER KLASSEN Jan 18, 1926 - August 16, 2007 Peacefully, on August 16, 2007, Peter passed away at the Victoria Hospital at the age of 81. Peter was predeceased by his parents Henry and Katharina Klassen; one brother Henry at a young age; siblings Bill, Dorothy, and Tiena. Remaining to cherish his memory are his wife and loving companion of 58 years, Agatha; son Vern (Roselin); daughters Myra (Russ) Friesen, Andrea (Rob) Doig; grandchildren Sharon (Neil), Stephanie, Amanda, Christine, Jessica, Laurel, Kathleen, Michael, and Meghan; siblings Mary, John (Ruth), Henry (Beth), Anne (David), Helena, Isaac (Alvina). Peter will also be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Peter was born and raised on the family farm in Lowe Farm. He moved to Winnipeg where he started his career as an electrician. In 1964 he and his brother started farming in the Starbuck area. Peter moved to Oak Bluff where he had his own farm and later farmed with his son. In 1987 Peter retired and moved to Winnipeg. Peter enjoyed retirement: golfing with Harold Noyd, John Dyck and John Wiens, bowling, and helping on the farm. The 23 winters spent in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, were a highlight in his life. In addition to golfing/bowling, he was active in the church choir and enjoyed visiting with friends and family. He had a very strong faith; he was active at Christian Fellowship Chapel. Peter had a joy for life, he had a keen sense of humour and we will miss his lively and competitive spirit.
