Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELIZABETH BARBARA ANNE PLATSCHICK (nee MILNE) Peacefully on Thursday, August 16, 2007, Barbara Platschick, aged 73 years, passed away at the Health Sciences Centre. Barbara will be lovingly remembered by her beloved husband Romeo of 51 years; daughter Ella; sons, Glen (Marian) and Ernest (Barbara); grandchildren, Ashley, Tanya, Lisa, Kaitlynn, Jennifer, Sidney and Colten; brothers, Donald (Emerald) of Saskatoon and Ian (Sharon) of Winnipeg; and sister-in-law Kate Marks of Berlin, Germany. She was predeceased by her daughter Grace. Barbara was an excellent wife, mother and grandmother. She worked at the Health Sciences Centre until she and Romeo started a family. Following her return to work when the children were grown, she began work in the garment industry. Barbara was an active member of the union, the Winnipeg Labour Council and the Communist party. Barbara loved to travel; Scotland, England, Cuba, and the Soviet Union were some of the many places Barbara was able to travel to through the years. Funeral service 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 22 at Bardal Funeral Chapel, 843 Sherbrook Street. A private family interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. Good day my name is Katrin Marks and I am from Germany. Now I am 30 years old. I remember as I was maybe 12 or 13 years old and Romeo and Ernest was in Germany (Liebermannstr. 116; 11088 Berlin) at my grandmother Käte Marks. For me, it was really exciting to meet both in the 3 days. Unfortunately I have seen only today that the wife of Romeo was passing away before 10 years. I would like to say my heartfelt condolences. I want that you know, if you want to contact me that I have broken with Käte Marks and every person of her side. It is difficult to explain why, because it was many factors were happen in the past.
