JOAN A. CARTWRIGHT (nee KOSMUK) It is with great sadness that the family of Joan Cartwright said farewell on August 17, 2007 at the Selkirk General Hospital. Joan was born in Winnipeg on July 10, 1934 to Nicholas and Mary Kosmuk. She is survived by her loving husband Fred, to whom she was married for 54 years; children, Robert (Sandra), Diane, Lynne Leah (John) and William (Lillian); grandchildren, Lori and Brian Mallows and their father, Bert and Heather, Lisa, Julie and Steven Cartwright; Minnie Kosmuk and Eva Kosmuk; Bob and Vicki Cartwright, and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her parents and sisters Doreen, Ann and Evelyn; brothers George and Bill as well as her precious son Gary in 1962 at the age of four. Mom and dad moved from Winnipeg to Gull Lake, MB in 1988 and then to Selkirk, MB in 2006. She was the Returning Officer for the R.M. of St. Clements for 15 years, running their many elections and she also served on the Gull Lake water board and the Stead Senior's executive. Many thanks to all, especially Dr. Margaret Speer and all the doctors, nurses and staff at the Selkirk Hospital. Respecting mom's wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to join the family for a celebration of her life at the Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., Winnipeg, MB on Tuesday, August 21 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Kids Fishing For a Cure, 531 Superior Ave. Selkirk, MB R1A 1A3 CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
