KATHERINE (KATIE) DUCHNYCZ Peacefully on Sunday, August 19, 2007, at the Lions Prairie Manor, Katherine Katie Duchnycz, of Portage la Prairie, widow of the late Andrew, passed away at the age of 90 years. Funeral service will be held in the chapel of the Omega Funeral Home on Thursday, August 23, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. with the Reverend Father Michael Wollbaum officiating. Interment will take place at 3:00 p.m. in the Sunville Cemetery near Glenella, Manitoba. Predeceased by her husband Andrew, three brothers Michael, Albert, and Walter, she leaves to mourn her passing her two sons Walter (Lucille) of Edmonton, Alberta, Murray (Sharon) of Surrey, BC, her daughter Karen (Joseph) Kopytko of Glenella, eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Also surviving is one brother Emil (Viola) of McCreary and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the funeral home for visitation on Wednesday, August 22, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Should friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Central Plains Cancer Care Services, 318 Saskatchewan Ave. E., Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 0K8, or the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3A 1P6.
