JOSEPH TOKARZ Peacefully, on August 19, 2007, at River East Personal Care Home in Winnipeg, Joseph Tokarz passed away at the age of 94. Joe was predeceased by his beloved wife Dora, his parents Catherine and Jan, sisters, Rosie (Joe) Zdrill, Mary (Pete) Paradowski, Victoria (Pete) Kondratiuk, Annie (Mike) Rogoski, Helen (Pete) Kuhtey, brother Steve and great-grandson Liam Tokarz Richards. Remaining to cherish his memory are daughters, Carol (Hank) Huber, Pauline (Ellis) Woods, Marleen (Rus) Gowan, sons, William (Irene) Tokarz, Michael Tokarz, grandsons, Edmund Huber (Karen), Clinton (Dana) Huber, David Tokarz (Mel), Brian Tokarz, Cory (Jodi) Woods, Duane Woods, Shawn (Andrea) Woods, granddaughters, Christina Tokarz and Chantelle Tokarz, great-grandsons, Brady Huber, Rhett and Ty Woods, brother Edward (Margie) Tokarz and numerous nieces and nephews. Joe was born in Arborg, MB on March 11, 1913. While living on the farm in Arborg, Joe met Dora and they were eventually married at Holy Ghost Church on October 10, 1942. Dad was a jack-of-all-trades. He cut, sold and delivered ice and wood. He was hired by the City of West Kildonan as a grader operator and helped various members of his family with their projects. After retiring at the age of 65, he was employed by S S Company for five years doing the same job that he loved grader operator. Dad loved to go fishing with the boys when his time would allow, and he made as much time for it as he could. A major source of pride and accomplishment for Dad was the naming of the park between the streets of Beecher and Templeton to Tokarz Park. A special thank-you to the doctors and nursing staff of Beacon Hill Lodge and River East Care Home for their caring hands while Dad was with you it is very much appreciated by our family. He especially loved all of the cats and dogs at the home. Prayers will be held on Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at 8:00 p.m. at St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church, 250 Burrin Avenue at Aikens Street. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. also at the Church with Rev. Fr. Henryk Laciak officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery. Pallbearers are all of his grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers are all of our family and friends. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
