LLOYD GEORGE SAUNDERS 1945 - 2007 Lloyd Saunders, born May 9, 1945, passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2007, at Selkirk General Hospital. He will be greatly missed by his brother Robert Jon Saunders of Vancouver, BC, his uncle Jens Magnusson, numerous cousins in the area and across Canada and the U.S., friends and neighbours. Lloyd was a gentle, loving soul and showed great thoughtfulness to all who knew him. His compassion and care towards others was deeply felt. He enjoyed sharing his love of music from his collection of records, tapes or CDs when family or friends visited. Lloyd was on the Board of Directors of the Selkirk Interlake Mental Health Support Centre Inc. for 10 years and enjoyed his many visits to the centre. He also made many friends at his residence at Riverview Manor in Selkirk. Lloyd was predeceased by his dear parents Claude and Theda Saunders, uncles and their spouses Mike (Christie), Chris (Gladys) and Axel (Betty) Magnusson, aunts and their spouses Bentina (Fred) Karlenzig and Eileen (Joe) Gottfried. Special thanks to Drs. Demsas and Lindenschmidt, the Selkirk General Hospital nursing staff, Terry Massey, homecare staff, Jens Magnusson, Leslie Ferguson and Helene Davis. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Selkirk Interlake Mental Health Support Centre Inc., 242 Manitoba Avenue, Selkirk, Manitoba R1A 0Y5. A memorial service will be held at Gilbart Funeral Home at 309 Eveline Street, Selkirk, Manitoba, on Thursday, August 23, 2007, at 2:00 p.m., with luncheon provided after the service.
