MARIE YVONNE HORSMAN (nee MARIE YVONNE BRANCONNIER) June 27, 1949 - August 17, 2007 Marie passed away on August 17, 2007, at Pinawa Hospital after a brief battle with cancer. She is survived by her beloved husband Ray and treasured son Darryl of Phoenix, AZ. Marie was adopted by, and predeceased by, her parents Diana and Euclide Boiteau, brother Denis and sister Carol. She is survived by siblings: Mariette De Pauw (Peter), Aime Boiteau (Shirley), Terry Haid (Don), Yvette Evans (Ron) and Jack Boiteau (Shirley), plus numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by in-laws: Alice Boiteau, Greg and Paulette Horsman, Bill and Dagmar Horsman, and Bob and Erin Horsman. Predeceased by her mother-in-law Jennie Viola Horsman in 2002. Also survived by aunts, uncles, and their extended families. Marie and Ray have been together for 36 years. For the past four years they have lived contentedly on the Lee River near Lac du Bonnet, MB, where they enjoyed retirement, along with nature and wildlife. Marie sincerely cared about people. Her generosity, kindness, and wonderful sense of humour, made it easy for her to make friends and meet neighbours. One of Marie's favourite pastimes was quilting. She spent many hours making quilts for her family, friends, and for charities. She was President of the Riverside Quilters organization. Marie was always willing to share her knowledge and teach others, making her a mentor to many in the quilting group. Marie had fond memories of the many family camping trips taken together and had a genuine love for all dogs. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the Roland United Church on Friday, August 24 at 2:00 p.m. in Roland, MB. Interment will follow at Roland Cemetery. The family would like to thank Dr. VanGend and the Pinawa Hospital staff for their care and compassion shown to Marie during her stay.
