VICTOR THOMAS KENNETH RAINKA Peacefully, on August 18, 2007, Victor passed away at the Grace Hospital at the age of 75. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Doreen; daughters Lynne Teplitski and Karen and son-in-law John Ohlson; grandchildren Trevor, Brenden, Taylor, Adam and Kailee; brother Don (Louise); sisters Lorraine and Eileen; mother-in-law Dolly (John) and many other loving relatives. Vic was predeceased by his parents Mary and Joseph, and brother Eddie. He was born and raised in the district of Birnie, MB, on December 17, 1931, and worked on the family farm. He then worked as a plasterer and general construction worker and as a milkman for Co-op Dairies in the St. James area for 14 years. He never missed a day of work until he became ill with Lupus in 1977. He was a kind and gentle person who was always devoted to his family and especially his grandkids. He was a big fan of boxing and listening to Metis and fiddling music in his favourite chair. He will be remembered for his selfless determination and strong-willed character. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, August 24, 2007, at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1P6. Arrangements entrusted to: Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 885-9715
