ISAAC PENNER After 83 years, Isaac Penner is now at rest with the Lord. He passed away at Riverview Health Centre on August 20, 2007. Isaac was predeceased by his parents Jakob and Margaretha; three sisters and three brothers. Isaac is survived by his wife of 53 years Helen, children Bruce (Rhonda), Beverly (Brian), Lindsay, Ron and grandsons Orion and Andrew; stepgrandsons Mark, Wade, and Dustin; three sisters, three brothers and many extended family members. Isaac was born and raised in Choritz, Manitoba. He moved to Winnipeg and in 1953 Helen and Isaac were married. He worked at Orange Crush before joining Winnipeg Transit where he retired after 29 years of service. In his spare time he and Helen worked a small hobby farm. During his retirement he drove a bus for Beaver Bus Lines and also volunteered for Middle Church Personal Care Home. Isaac loved to socialize and couldn't pass up a chance to tell a story. The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to all the healthcare workers that cared for him. Isaac often expressed how fortunate he was to have met so many kind hearted and competent people in his 20 year battle with cancer. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2007, 1:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home with viewing one-half hour prior to. Reverend Erica Block officiating. Interment and reception to follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Cancer Care Manitoba or Riverview Health Centre Foundation.
