ALICE RUTH ZIEGLER (nee RUSSELL) On Monday, August 20, 2007, our beloved mother and grandmother passed away peacefully with her family at her side, after her courageous battle with cancer. Mom will be dearly missed by her loving companion Ray; son Robert and wife Ruth, grandchildren Lisa and Scott; son John, and wife Karen, grandchildren Sarah and Amanda. She is also survived by her sister Violet McCormick and husband Ken, brother Norman Russell and wife Eileen, and brother Ken Saramago, along with numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Mom was predeceased by her husband Jack, mother Helena, father Adolph, brother Wilfred and his wife Marion, and sister-in-law Florence. Special thanks to the staff of Unit 7 on the 3rd floor at Seven Oaks General Hospital for all their love and care. We would also like to thank Paul and Tammy for being a special part of Mom's life. Alice was born in Winnipeg on November 23, 1932, and moved many times in her younger years until she returned to Winnipeg. She loved the outdoors especially at the family cottage at Lee River where she spent time fishing and playing cards. Alice was always a hard worker and this work ethic continued after her retirement through her volunteer work for Meals on Wheels and the Legion. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba. Funeral service will take place at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg, on Saturday, August 25 at 1:00 p.m. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
