Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALICE PEARL FOSTER (nee BRITTAN) Peacefully on Thursday, August 16, 2007, after a lengthy illness, Pearl Foster of Winnipeg passed away at the Deer Lodge Hospital at the age of 85 years. Remaining to forever cherish Pearl's memory are her two sons Wayne (partner Lizabeth Harris) of Winnipeg and Glenn and his wife Nancy as well as grandchildren Melissa and Sean of Calgary. Pearl joins her beloved husband Murray who passed away July 18, 2004; she was also predeceased by her parents Herbert Brittan and Ellen Brittan (nee Watts) of Manchester, England. Pearl was born March 4, 1922, in Toronto, Ontario, and the family returned to Manchester, England, in 1924. During the war years Pearl worked to aid the war effort at Metropolitan Vickers in Manchester. She met her husband Murray during the war and they were married on September 11, 1943. Following the war they settled in Winnipeg, Manitoba. After raising their sons, Pearl worked in Winnipeg as a crafts instructor to senior citizens. Pearl is remembered for her great passion for the crafts, and love of literature and art. A private ceremony was held to mark Pearl's passing and celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Pearl's memory would be appreciated if made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 200 - 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3L 0K6.
