Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIWAN (JOHN) LECH Peacefully in his home on August 23, 2007, Iwan passed away at age 83. He was predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Anastazia. He is survived by his daughters Maria Stevenson (Richard), Irene Lech, and Ann Feierstein (Max). He leaves to mourn his two grandchildren Terra and Elie, which were his pride and joy. Iwan was born in Laszki, Jaroslaw, Poland on June 17, 1924. He met Anastazia in Germany and they married in 1947. After moving on to England in 1948, the Canadian Government gave the clearance for them to make their journey to Canada. They arrived in Canada June 22, 1952. Their new home became Winnipeg along with many other Ukrainian settlers. Iwan worked as a bricklayer and later at Ideal Brass and Bristol Aerospace. He was known as Superman for his physical strength on the job. He loved renovation and construction work and made this his second job forming his own company. He renovated all of his daughter's homes and was on call for them 24/7. His other passion was gardening. The vegetables he grew were surely prize winners, which he shared with many people. Dad, you were a very strong worker and we learned so much from you. We know you have some tools with you now. Enjoy fixing your new home. Give lots of hugs and kisses to mom from your three daughters and grandchildren. The family would like to thank Dr. Kevin Saunders for the many years of care he provided. Another thank you to the many Home Care Workers who made it possible for Iwan to stay at home during the toughest times. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Iwan's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 200-6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6. Memorial Service will be held on Monday, August 27, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., Winnipeg. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
