CECILY MARGARET ERB (nee Parkinson) 1916 - 2007 It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Cecily Margaret Erb on August 17, 2007 at the age of 91. Left to cherish her memory: sons Rex, Ray (Arlene) and Ron, grandchildren Christopher, Craig, Tracy (Mark) and great-granddaughter Ilyssa Anna Mae. Mom was predeceased by daughter Anna Mae in 1978, and son Robert in 1990. Mom was born on April 10, 1916 at Garstang near Preston, Lancashire UK. She trained and worked as a registered nurse. Among the many English War Brides who immigrated to Canada to join their spouses after the Second World War, she sailed to Canada aboard the RMS Queen Mary with Baby Boys Rex and Ray. They arrived in Halifax (Pier 21) in September of 1946 and boarded the steam train to make Winnipeg their new home .... The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to all the staff at Fred Douglas Lodge who made her final years very peaceful and comfortable. Special thanks to her dearest friend Dulcie Preston and family. A family Memorial Service was held on Friday, August 24, 2007 at the Fred Douglas Lodge Chapel, with Reverend Linda Churchill officiating.
