MONICA NAN ROBERTSON (nee PRESCOTT) January 2, 1925 - August 23, 2007 Peacefully surrounded by her loving family, Monica passed away on August 23, 2007. Our beloved Mother will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her son Duncan (Louise) Caitlyn and Jessie, daughter Leslie (Robert) Jennifer (Angus), daughter Cindy (Christopher) Tiffany (Ken) and Paul, son Roy (Audrey) Andrew and Elliot, daughter Tanyss (Bill) Max, as well as numerous relatives and friends. Monica was predeceased by her husband William (Robin), her daughter Dawn and her brother Gordon. Mom's greatest achievements in life besides her 40 years of marriage and the raising of her six children include her career as a professional model starting at the age of 14, and continuing on through her early 30s. Mom radiated not only a physical beauty but, most importantly, an inner beauty and strength that captivated all those who were lucky enough to meet her. Mom's sense of humour, contagious laugh, her Monkey Face and mischievous ways will be forever remembered by her eight grandchildren. Throughout Mom's life her competitive spirit showed not only in numerous achievements and awards in bowling, curling and bridge, she also had up-to-the-minute recall of televised sports stats including all players, names, averages, goals scored and her colourful favourites. Mom also surprised everyone with her artistic flair when she started a new hobby as an impressionist painter at the golden age of 75. Our Mom celebrated her life as she lived it! Always a Lady. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Tuxedo Extendicare Villa for all their care and compassion. At our Mother's request cremation has taken place. Mom will be laid to rest beside her husband Robin and near her daughter Dawn at Assumption Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to a charity of one's choice.
