ADA MILDRED BARRON (nee FARIS) On Tuesday, August 21, 2007, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away unexpectedly. Ada was born on February 21, 1925 to Herb and Peg Faris. She spent her early years in Fort Rouge and Fort Garry and lived in the West End for many years before retiring to North Kildonan. She made lifelong friends and acquaintances through her work at Eaton's, Sears, Glidden Paint, the Health Sciences Centre, and the Wellington Avenue Apartment. Ada married Edward Barron on November 3, 1972 and enjoyed travels across Canada, to Las Vegas, and the Caribbean as well as time spent at Lee River. Ada also travelled several times to Savannah, Georgia and the British Isles. She was actively involved in the lives of her daughters and their families right up until her untimely passing. She is survived by her husband Edward; daughters, Judy (Vince) Hykawy, Patti Johnston, Wendy (Butch) Surma. She leaves grandchildren, Kathleen (Jeroen) Gardien, Stacey (Luigi) Occhino, Lindie (Shawn) Hykawy; Sean and Kyla Johnston; Amanda and Corey Surma; and great-granddaughter Caitlin Gardien. A memorial service will be held at John Black Memorial United Church, 898 Henderson Hwy. on August 28, 2007 at 7:00 p.m., officiated by Reverend Jim Hatherly. The family thanks the Emergency Response Team in attendance and the Emergency Staff at Concordia Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
