JASON STANLEY NESKAR It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our Son, Brother, Grandson, Nephew, and Friend, Jason Stanley Neskar of St. Andrews, MB., at the age of 22. Jason was born in Treherne, Manitoba on February 18, 1985, the second child to Mark and Annette Neskar. Shortly after his birth, the Neskar clan moved to Souris, Manitoba. Dealing with challenges through his life he never let it get him down. He was quick to join the Boy Scouts where he made many friends and enjoyed many new activities. It was in Souris where Jason started school as any five year old would, learning to quickly adapt as things came his way. It was in these years that he met and formed some fabulous friendships, to which were close to his heart still today. When the family moved to Dauphin, Manitoba in 1992, Jason was excited for more adventure and new opportunities and where he first got to ride a bus to school. It was also here that Jason became an avid swimmer, where he would join his family and friends in the backyard pool. And it was also in Dauphin where Jason was acknowledged for his true grit and determination when he was awarded the Lieutenant Governor's award for Fortitude. The family's next move was to St. Andrews in 1997. Coming into a new school system yet again was no small feat. As was Jason's way, he quickly formed many close bonds and continued to participate in the new activities he brought with him from Dauphin. In grade 10, the big jump to the high school was made. Jason whizzed through high school and graduated with such pride, receiving the Principal's Award. Watching him get that diploma was truly a proud day for all of us. Jason was awarded the Yes I Can Award from the Manitoba Council for Exception Children in 2004. Attending College was yet another achievement. He attended Red River College, taking computer accounting and befriending everyone that crossed his path. Jason was always busy chatting someone up. Graduating in May of 2005, Jason was currently on a work experience program in Winnipeg. Jason always loved sports, and although he was not physically able to play most sports, many wonderful people came into his life helping him find new and helpful ways to include him. From playing hockey with mini sticks to baseball with a paper towel roll and ping pong ball, Jason did it all and with great pride! Even when he couldn't participate, he was always one of the loudest cheerleaders for his friends. Jason had quite the social life. Never missing an opening night for a new movie, or a social of someone he knew, Jason kept his close friend and attendant, Phil busy. Jason was a proud supporter of his siblings and never missed their activities. From Pamela's dancing or band concerts, Erin's baseball and volleyball games, to Chris's sports and concerts. He was always their number one cheerleader. Family was always number one to Jason and nothing else ever came close. Jason was predeceased by his Grandparents, Rose and Gabriel Dubé, his Aunt Trudy Dubé, and many great Aunts and Uncles. Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Mark and Annette; his brother Christopher; his sisters, Erin, Pamela (David May); his Godson and nephew Spencer; his grandparents, Ted and Olga Neskar; his Godmother and aunt Susan (Ron Normand); uncle Ted (Kim Neskar); aunts, Yolande (Elmer Bigelow), Pauline (Jim Hawes), Helene (Carl Pitura), Denise (Brian Rorke); his uncle Alphy Dubé, his Godfather Fr. Art Seaman, special friend, Philip Grayson, and many other family and friends. The family wishes to thank all those who were involved in Jason's life including his school attendants, personal attendants, teachers, therapists, doctors, nurses, and the school divisions that so generously accommodated Jason in his education. Jason had a huge heart with lots of love to give. His courage, faith, strength, determination, and can do attitude in all he faced in his short life, left a lasting impression to all those who were lucky enough to meet him. Anyone that met or came across Jason's path was sure to be changed. His laughter was contagious, his smile infectious. The ache in our hearts will heal over time but our memories of time spent with Jason will last forever. We love you Jason. Jason's life will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 28 at 10:30 a.m at St. Theresa's Church, 3597 Main Street, West St. Paul, Manitoba with Msgr. Louis McCloskey and Fr. Art Seaman officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jason's name to the Rehabilitation Centre for Children or a charity of your choice. Gilbart's Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
