Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDWARD BROWN (PASTOR ED) Passed into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at Concordia Hospital on Thursday, August 23, 2007. His wife Rebecca predeceased him on July 25, 1989. He will be sadly missed by his son William (Judy); his grandchildren, Judi (Mark) Stevie and James, in Spain, Andrea (James) Jaynee and Emma, Derek (Tracy), his special friend Ida Burse, extended family in N. Ireland and many Christian friends in both N. Ireland and Canada. Edward was born in Belfast N. Ireland on May 26, 1914. Before immigrating to Canada in 1972 he served for 24 years with the Belfast City Mission in Mountcollyer Avenue and Jersey Street mission halls. In Manitoba he served for eight years with various Central Canada Baptist Churches and four years with Fellowship Baptist Churches. After his retirement he remained active in Christian work for many years. For the last year and a half Edward has lived at Park Manor Personal Care Home.. The family would like to thank the staff at Park Manor and at Concordia Hospital for the excellent care that he received. Viewing will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 28 at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day Street. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 29 also from the Transcona Funeral Chapel with Pastor Ed Hughes officiating. Interment to follow at Transcona Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Union Gospel Mission, Princess Street. Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.
