JAMES ANDERSON BROADFOOT The death of James Anderson Broadfoot of Gladstone, Manitoba occurred on August 25, 2007 after a lengthy illness. Jim was born on November 16, 1928 in Gladstone, Manitoba. He was the eldest child of Mary and Russell Broadfoot. He is survived by his sisters and brothers: Betty McIvor of Gladstone, Ian and Joanne Broadfoot of Winnipeg, Hugh and Judy Broadfoot of Boissevain, and Moira and Larry Linstead of Black Creek, B.C. He is also survived by 13 nieces and nephews and two cousins, Fred Lightfoot and Betty Lightfoot. He was predeceased by his parents and brother-in-law Henry McIvor. Jim was a farmer all his life and resided on the family farm in the Preston District. In later years he could be classified as a master gardener and many people benefited from his bountiful crops. Jim was also an avid reader with a special interest in the history of Gladstone, being a descendant of one of the pioneer homesteaders in the area. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gladstone United Church with Rev. Ian Olive officiating. Interment will follow in the Gladstone Cemetery.
