MANUEL AMADEU FRANCISCO January 28, 1932 August 26, 2007 It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Manuel whose long battle with heart disease ended peacefully, surrounded by his family, in the early evening of August 26, 2007. Manuel was born on the island of Pico, Azores, Portugal and immigrated to Winnipeg, Canada along with his wife and son in 1964. Manuel leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 49 years, Maria de Fatima, his son Fernando Francisco (Connie), his daughter Elizabeth Dudeck (Brent), and grandchildren, Justin, Brittany, Tyler, Austin and Megan. He also leaves to mourn his sisters, Alvarina Da Rosa and Maria Estela Serpa (Antonio) of Pico, Azores, brothers-in-law, Malvino De Azevedo Ferriera (Nivalda) and Manuel Azevedo Ferriera (Gilda) of Pico, Azores, and numerous nieces and nephews. Manuel was predeceased by his parents Alvarina and Antonio, and one brother-in-law Narcimento da Rosa. The family would like to thank Dr. Li, the staff of the C.C.U. and the 4B Ward at St. Boniface General Hospital for all their care and attention in this time of sorrow. We would also like to send a special thank-you to the Chaplain Anita for her kind words of comfort and care in this time of sorrow. Prayer service will be held on Friday, August 31 at 8:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin St. N. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 1 at 10:00 a.m. also at the Church with Very Rev. Fr. José Eduardo Medeiros, V. F. officiating, with interment to follow immediately after at the Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue. Pallbearers will be Justin Francisco, Brent Dudeck, Helder Serpa, Malvino De Azevedo Ferriera, Daniel de Sousa and Joe Nicolau. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Descanse Em Paz CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
