Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALPHONSE (KELLY) MESTDAGH Alphonse (Kelly) Mestdagh died suddenly on August 27, 2007. Kelly was born on April 9, 1923, on a farm near Holland, Manitoba. He is survived by his daughter Christine Cheyne; his son Donald (Susan); his brother Fred (Gerry); his granddaughter Charlene; his grandson Andrew, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Christina and his brother Frank. Kelly received his early education in St. Boniface. He served overseas in the Canadian Forces in the Second World War. Following his discharge he worked briefly for the Winnipeg Electric Streetcar System and as a blacksmith with the CPR, and was employed by Canada Post for 27 years, prior to his retirement in 1984. Kelly was a very active member of the community until illness forced him to curtail his activities. He was a good husband and father, a good neighbour and friend. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him. Cremation has taken place. In conformity with Kelly's wishes, no memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200 - 6 Donald St., Winnipeg MB R3L OK6. Arrangements entrusted to: Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 885-9715
