MARGARET ANNE TARR-JENSEN It is with great sorrow I announce the passing of my beloved and devoted daughter Margaret Ann, age 53, at the Riverview Health Center on August 26, 2007 with family by her side after a courageous and brief battle with cancer. She is survived by her loving Mother Lil, her sister Barb, numerous Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and friends who she held very dear and close to her heart. She was predeceased in 1986 by her father William Bill , grandparents, several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Marg or Maggie as she was known was born in Brandon, Manitoba, July 2, 1954 and moved to Winnipeg with her parents at the age of two. She received her education in Winnipeg. Marg was employed for the last 13 years at Grant Park Safeway in the Bakery as the doughnut-fryer Queen as well as assisting the Bakers. Marg loved all animals especially her cats Pacer and Licorice . She enjoyed gardening and was an avid reader. Both she and her mother and sister enjoyed having lunches out and playing the VLTs on occasion. Marg enjoyed travel. She went to Las Vegas three times, twice to see Elvis, to Ireland, as well as coast to coast in Canada. Marg was unselfish and always put others before herself. She was a very compassionate and caring person. Family and friends were a very important aspect in her life. Margaret never refused help to anyone in need, and when she made a new friend she did so for life. Special thanks to Dr. Andrew Maksymiuk and to nurse Jennifer from Cancer Care MB at the Health Sciences Centre, the Chemotherapy Unit, for the kindness and care of Margaret during her brief illness, and to the Riverview staff on 3E, especially the purple team. A Celebration of Life was held at Thomson Funeral Home August 29, 2007. The service was officiated by Pastor Shane Brothers. Interment followed at Brookside cemetery. Pallbearers were her uncle Howard Needham and cousin Darren Needham. If friends so desire in lieu of flowers, donations to Cancer Care Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg R3E0V9 or the Winnipeg Humane Society. Forever loved and sadly missed. Forever in our memories. Love Always Mom and Barb. Time To Fly Away To soar and float and flutter A gentle bird I'd be To grace the clouded mountains Or fly oer the salted sea No more tied to substance That makes up whom we are It's but little bits of nature That can fit within a jar I am now more than all of this I've found a new resolve To seek the boundless universe And it's mysteries to solve Wish me a well journey For it's time to fly away I'm off to see the universe Until we meet again some day. written by Robert Longley sacred poems THOMSON FUNERAL HOME 669 Broadway~783-7211 www.thomsonfuneralhome.com
