JEANETTE YOUNG July 23, 1921 - August 29, 2007 The family wishes to announce the death of Jean (Higgs) Young on August 29, 2007, at Kildonan Personal Care Centre in Winnipeg. Jean was well known as a Public Health Nurse for 39 years. She grew up in Bowsman, MB, where she attended Wild Rose School and later Bowsman High School. At the age of 20, she left Bowsman to study at Brandon Mental Hospital and then on to Winnipeg General for three years of training. She received her Psychiatric Diploma as well as her RN. She then went on to post graduate studies in Public Health at the University of Manitoba. She enjoyed her work and other activities in the district. After retiring she compiled and published a book about her life. She leaves behind brothers John, Cyril and Bertrum. She was predeceased by her brothers George and Stanley as well as her sister Sheila. She was also predeceased by her husband Douglas in 1979 after 34 years of marriage. She will be remembered by her family, nieces, and nephews. A private ceremony will take place at Kirkfield Park United Church at 1:00 p.m. Donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent Street, Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3.
