HENRY KLASSEN On Wednesday, August 29, 2007, Henry Klassen passed away in Winnipeg, three days from his 82nd birthday. Henry was born September 1, 1925 to Martin and Sara Klassen as the fourth of nine brothers and sisters on a small farm near Altona, Manitoba. He came to know Christ as his Saviour in his teen years and was baptized shortly thereafter. He also completed a year of study at the Elim Bible Study School. At the age of 25, Henry moved with the rest of his family to Austin, Manitoba to work on a larger farm. Henry felt he needed to explore other opportunities and moved to Winnipeg shortly thereafter. Dad had a number of careers which included construction, meat packing, and then truck driving for Alsip's Brick and Tile. Henry's hobbies included traveling as well as being one of the first people in Altona to have a movie camera. These films provided a tremendous archive of his years growing up as well as a record of his travels. In his seventies, Dad developed a love for walking and was known to walk from Donwood Manor to Portage Place and return the same day. He will be greatly missed by his family which included a daughter, son, son-in-law, three grandchildren, brothers and sisters and many friends, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters-in-law. Funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 4, at Morrow Gospel Church, 755 St. Anne's Road, Winnipeg. FRIENDS FUNERAL SERVICE 2146 Main Street 339-5555
