Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Irene Houssin, her son Murray (Donna), her grandchildren Michael and Douglas Houssin and Kevin Eastoe, her brother George (Marie), and many nephews and nieces. Dorothy was predeceased by her loving husband Bob in 2000, her parents, Nellie and Russell Lee, and her sister Muriel. Dorothy was born in Winnipeg on April 2, 1922. She met Bob at the Winnipeg Roller Rink in 1942. They married in 1944 and then spent a few months in Barrie, Ontario, while Bob was in the military, but returned to Winnipeg to work, raise their children and enjoy their life together. They were always surrounded by friends. Dorothy worked at various jobs in Winnipeg throughout her life but the majority of it was working at Eaton's in the Candy Department. Dorothy belonged to sewing club for many years. Dorothy and Bob enjoyed camping trips with family and friends and later on in life joined the Good Sam Trailer Club. They travelled across the continent, and also to England and Hawaii. Dorothy and Bob were married 56 years. Dorothy enjoyed cross country skiing, bowling, cooking, crafts and many other activities. She had a keen sense of humour. Her biggest enjoyment in life was spending time with her family and friends. Her grandchildren were her very special joy. Dorothy always enjoyed life to the fullest. She will be greatly missed. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses and all staff on 5E at St. Boniface Hospital for their excellent care and comfort given to Dorothy. Also thanks to the staff and residents who welcomed her in her recent move to Kildonan House. Cremation has taken place on Dorothy's request. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 4 at 2:00 p.m. at Bardal Funeral Chapel, 843 Sherbrook Street, with Rev. Richard S. Condo officiating. Private Interment will take place at Elmwood Cemetery.
