DONALD LEWIS WARD 1931 - 2007 With deep sadness we announce the passing of Don Ward at his home August 20, 2007, after suffering graciously with ALS for three years. Don was born in Vancouver, raised in Winnipeg and returned to Burnaby, BC, to raise his family. He started his career with Chargex, working his way through the ranks until retiring with CIBC Visa in 1993. Don also gave back to his community by volunteering with several organizations. Don loved to be on the tennis court or tending to his beautiful garden. Left behind, with a broken heart, his wife of 50 years, Delayne (nee Adolphe) and their children, Deanna (Steve) and Debby. Also left to mourn for their wonderful Papa are his grandchildren, Josh (Echo), Stephanie (Joel), and Kevin and his great-grandchildren, Seth, Tyson, Ethan, Cara, and another precious one on the way. Looking for his lap to sit in is his four legged buddy and protector Disney. Don fought bravely and unselfishly, even managing a trip to the family cottage at Brereton Lake this summer, a place whose walls hold some of his happiest memories. A kinder, gentler man will not walk the face of this earth. Don's family and friends will miss him dearly. In lieu of flowers, we would gratefully appreciate donations made to the ALS Society. OUR HERO HAS PASSED BUT HIS LOVE LIVES ON.
