MARGARET ROSSNAGEL On September 2, 2007, Margaret Rossnagel, wife of the late Randy Rossnagel, loving mother of Leonard and Alena, and their daughters, Lorysa (Andrew) and Emma; Janet and John Bennett, and their daughters, Laura and Julia. Predeceased by her brothers, Joseph and Edmond. She leaves to mourn her sister Alice Renooy (Rens) and their family; her sisters-in-law, Greta Van Steelant, Audrey Rossnagel, Margaret Rossnagel, Phyllis Rossnagel and their families. Aunt Margaret is survived by many nieces and nephews and their children and her good friends, Dot Irwin and Grace Klimpke. She was born to Belgian Canadians on August 1, 1922, in the Lilyfield area of Rosser Municipality. Mom spent her childhood helping on the family dairy farm and attending Ulster School. She was hospitalized at a young age with scarlet fever, and in young adulthood with polio. In 1948 she married Randy Rossnagel and together they purchased the Heimer place where they dairied and farmed until 1979. Mom and Dad spent many enjoyable trips visiting relatives, and met new friends on bus excursions. They spent much time and effort gardening, and won awards for their home grounds. Mom loved to bake and cook and continued to try new recipes. Margaret was a founding member of St. Joseph's Church, Stony Mountain. She served on the church board for many years as treasurer, and was an active member of CWL. In 1996 Mom moved into Lions Manor in Stonewall where she made many new friends and spent enjoyable times visiting and playing cards. She made numerous trips to visit her family in Portage and Bragg Creek, AB. Mom had a lifelong interest in learning and education both for herself and her children and granddaughters. She was the family historian and the person we consulted for ages and birthdays. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 7 at 1:30 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel in Stonewall, Rev. Father R. Glofcheski officiating. Reception to follow at Lions Community Centre (55+), Stonewall. Private family interment. • My condolences to Leonard and Janet Rossnagel . It is already some years ago but I found out scanning on internet. I very well remember her cooking and baking capabilities during my stay on their farm. - Posted by: Dirk Wiersma (Worked on the dairyfarm from Randy and Margaret Rossnagel in 1964 ) on: Jan 05, 2013
