Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGLENN ARMSTRONG KREUTZER Glenn Armstrong Kreutzer, age 64, owner of Kreutzer Honey Farms passed away at his home in Portage la Prairie on Tuesday, July 31, 2007. He was born October 2, 1942 in Winnipeg, to the late Henry and Margurite Kreutzer. He attended school in Selkirk. In 1967 he married Pauline Osterman in Winnipeg. Glenn started his bee keeping business in Amaranth, MB in 1965 and attained a diploma in bee keeping from the University of Manitoba in 1970. In 1974 Glenn and Pauline relocated the headquarters of Kreutzer Honey Farms to Portage la Prairie, In 1988 Glenn wound down the operations of the bee business and focused on his real estate investments. He was heavily involved in the bee business, eventually becoming the President of the Manitoba Bee Keepers Association (MBA) in 1982 - 1983. In February 2006 Glenn was honoured with the Bee Hive Award by the MBA for his 25 years of service (1965 - 1985) as a director on the board. On that night it was also noted that Pauline was a director of the board from 1973 - 1975, the only time in MBA history that a husband and wife had ever been on the board at the same time. If any one wanted to know about the bee business in Canada they would talk to Glenn. He was a director of the Manitoba Honey Co-op and Bee Maid Honey for 15 years in the 70s and 80s. He was also a member of the Canadian Honey Council from 1974 - 1984. He was secretary manager of the Manitoba Honey Marketing Board from 1968 - 1982. In 1983 he was named chair of the board. In 1976 he was named a director of the Canadian Federal Agriculture Board. In 1977 the Rotary Club of Manitoba named Glenn as one of its five Young Outstanding Manitobans. Glenn was a member of the Portage Kiwanis Club for fifteen years and served as club president from 1978 - 1979. Glenn enjoyed travelling throughout Canada and the United States and riding his motorcycles. He also had many different collections with his most prominent one being his Coca-Cola memorabilia. Glenn was predeceased by his wife Pauline on June 19, 1975. He is survived by his son Doug of Vancouver and his brother Evan (Irene) of Selkirk. Also his nephews, Daniel of Winnipeg, Andre of Fernie, BC and Marcel of Winnipeg. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. in St. Mary's Anglican Church, Portage la Prairie. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery.
