ALBERT K. LOECHNER It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Albert Karl Loechner, 71 years of age, at Beacon Hill Lodge. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 48 years, Helga; his son Fred (Shannon) and their son Jordan; his son Marc (Lisa), their daughter Connor and their son Braeden; his daughter Carol (Troy) and their daughters, Anakin and Bethaney. Albert was predeceased by his daughter Caren in 1995 and by his brother Rolf in 2004. Albert was born in Stuttgart, Germany on May 31, 1936. In Germany, he completed training as a journeyman plumber and sheet metal worker. He immigrated to Winnipeg in 1958, at the age of 21, with his friend Klaus Goede. He was followed by his fiancé, Helga, a year later and they married the same year. Albert started work with Winnipeg Supply in 1959 and worked there for over 20 years. He then worked for Fort Garry Refrigeration, before operating A. Loechner Sheet Metal. He also worked a few years with Hussmann. When he was not working, Albert enjoyed fishing, mostly with his friend Ron Muller. His other summer passion was caring for his vegetable garden and growing too many tomatoes. Our family would like to give thanks to the staff at Beacon Hill Lodge for their care of Albert over the past two years. Memorial services will be held on Friday, September 7, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue with interment and reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Manitoba Wildlife Federation and will be directed to Youth Angling Education Program, 70 Stevenson Rd., Winnipeg, MB R3H 0W7. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME 885-9715
