Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryISABEL ANNE COGHLIN It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Mum and Gammy, Isabel Anne Coghlin (nee Stokes), September 3, 2007, at home at Heritage Lodge Personal Care Home, following a lengthy and difficult battle with Parkinson's Disease. Remaining to forever cherish Isabel's memory are her children, Laurie and Mary Coghlin, Linda and Bud Foster and grandson Steven Foster all of Winnipeg, brother-in-law Mac Douglas, nephew Lorne and Dora Douglas and family in New Zealand and Australia, plus many dear friends across North America. Isabel was born January 13, 1922, in Thornhill, Ontario, but along with her best friend and sister Dotte, lived most of her life in the Deer Lodge area. She attended Linwood, St. James Collegiate and the University of Manitoba where she studied for her Masters in Textiles in Home Economics and was a proud sorority sister with Alpha Gamma Delta. She also worked for several years in the Eaton's Dress Goods department. Mum was a proud and devoted homemaker for 30 years following marriage to Murray Coghlin in 1950 and the arrival of her two children, Laurie and Linda. Mum's life changed again with the arrival of her only grandson Steven in 1987. They were inseparable from the start and spent many happy years playing together. Mum dearly loved the lake and the family cottage at Whytewold and spent almost 50 summers there until ill health prevented her from doing so. Mum loved music, gardening, tennis, reading, television, crafts, crossword puzzles, Yahtzee and travel. She was one of the most unique individuals with a diverse set of hobbies and interests and there was never enough time in the day to accomplish all her projects. Mum was kind, friendly, loyal, gracious, generous, unpretentious, feisty and playful. Family was always first with Mum. Nothing made her happier than to have her own family gathered close. Mum will forever be remembered for her courage and dignity in the face of adversity, her incredible sense of humour and wit, huge heart, love of life, and endless laughter. We are deeply grateful to all our family friends for their loving support over the years, to the many doctors and specialists who helped Mum to maintain a quality of life, and to our angel network at Heritage Lodge who shared the last four years with us as a family. Your compassion, caring, friendship and love for both Mum and us will forever be appreciated and never forgotten. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial and Celebration of Isabel's life will be held on Monday, September 10, 2007, at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Should friends desire, donations may be made in Isabel's memory in support of research to the Parkinson Society of Manitoba, 302-171 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 1M4. Thanks for everything Mum. We will miss you always... Arrangements entrusted to: Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 885-9715
