GEORGE WILLIAM ARGLE, P. ENG. After a lengthy illness, George passed away on August 31, 2007. Surviving him are his wife of 62 years, Hilda, daughter Lyn (Bryan) and grandson Adam (Ellen) Thompson. He is survived by one brother and two sisters and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters-in-law. He was born to George (Sr.) and Jeanne Argle in 1923 and grew up on the family farm at Hazelridge where he attended school and was involved in many sports activities. He volunteered for the R.C.A.F. in 1941 and was honourably discharged in 1946. George graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1950 with a B.Sc.E.E. He was one of many engineers involved in building dikes during the 1950 flood. His career with C.P. Rail began in November 1950 in the Signals Department in Winnipeg, with many promotions and postings across Western Canada. When he retired in November 1987, George was Superintendent, Signals and Communications, Prairie Region. Cremation has taken place. In keeping with George's wishes there will be no service. No flowers please.
