JACK WALTER VONAU August 21, 1928 - September 1, 2007 It is with great sadness and happiness to announce the passing of Jack Walter Vonau, at Seven Oaks Hospital, with family at his side. Sadness in that Jack is no longer able to share his life with us on earth. Happiness in that Jack's suffering came to an end and that he is with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 55 years Cecilia, his son Jerry (Wanda), grandson Jacob (Shanda), five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, six sisters, plus many nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Jack was predeceased by his parents Ludwig and Ottilia, and son Arthur. Jack was born in Lipton, Saskatchewan, and spent his early life on the farm with his nine siblings. Later he met and married his wife in 1952, before moving to Winnipeg in 1956. In 1958 he started his career at what is now Westroc Industries, working in the maintenance department as a welder until his retirement. He was an active member in the union, serving in various rolls over the years. He was also a lifetime active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, serving on the church's council when asked. He occupied his time with his family and enjoyed helping his friends in the city and at his cottage at Camp Rusalka. Jack naturally had a smile on his face and a helping hand for everyone and all. The funeral service will be held Saturday September 8, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 265 Flora Ave. Interment will follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to a charity of your choice. LOVE YOU FOREVER PAPA. WE WILL MISS YOU. Arrangements Entrusted To: Glen Eden Funeral Home 4477 Main Street 338-7111
