JOAN MACGILLIVRAY (nee DARTNELL) On September 1, 2007, after a long and courageous battle against cancer, Joan is now in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Joan was born on July 15, 1928 in Winnipeg. She was devoted to her family and opened up her heart and home to many. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Hugh (1976), an infant grandson, Zachery, a brother Eddie and a sister Francis. Shortly after her husband's passing, she returned to the work force working for Meizner Construction and later McCain Electric retiring at the age of 72. She enjoyed her retirement years visiting her children and grandchildren and spending time at Star Lake with her family. She will be sadly missed by her children, Karen (Rick) Clark of Orange City, IA, Lois (Gord) Monteath of Prince George, BC, Merrill (Jeff) Hunter of Winnipeg, Hugh (Wendy) MacGillivray of Minneapolis, MN, and Don (Leslie) MacGillivray of Winnipeg. Joan also leaves behind sisters, Clare Reay, Muriel (Bob) Street and Lois (Dave) Brownsdon, many nieces and nephews, 17 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. We would like to thank the staff at Riverview Palliative Care Unit for their care and compassion and for the many who took care of her during her battle with cancer at the Health Science Center. In compliance with Joan's wishes, no funeral services will be held. Please remember Joan as you knew her.
