MARIE ELLEN DREWS (nee O'BRIEN) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend on August 30, 2007, at the age of 53. Marie is survived by her husband Wayne, children, Sean (Tara) and Christine (George), grandchildren, Laurynn and Juleah and her many siblings, nieces and nephews. Marie was predeceased by her parents Edward and Ellen O'Brien. Born on May 1, 1954 in Winnipeg, Marie grew up in St. James. In 1971 she met Wayne and moved to British Columbia where they were married, had Sean in 1972 and Christine in 1974. They moved back to Winnipeg in 1981 where Marie later worked as an electrologist at Eaton's before opening her own business. Through her business, Marie made countless close friends (everyone will miss all those talks with Marie!). Marie showed us all how strong she was when diagnosed with breast cancer four years ago. Through numerous treatments, Marie still made you smile, always stayed positive and strong. We will always remember your words, there is nothing I can do but just deal with it, it's out of my hands. Marie's greatest joy in life was her family and those grandchildren. Anyone who knew Marie always heard what her two angels were doing, with lots of pictures to accompany. Marie also enjoyed her Saturday morning garage saling (you just never knew what she would bring home). Marie will be missed not only for her friendships, strength and selflessness, but also for her ability to do anything she put her mind to. We will miss you Mom and also miss our hairdresser, electrologist, seamstress, accountant, chef, babysitter, housekeeper, garage saler, computer technician, psychologist, house painter, wood refurbisher and most recently, balloon animal maker. Your strength and spirit will live on in us, we will see you again. Special thanks to Uncle Pat and Auntie Karen for all their support through this difficult time. At Marie's request, no funeral service will be held; a private interment will take place at a later date. Marie wanted people to remember her for the fun, crazy, charismatic, opinionated, strong, stubborn, loving woman she was. You are always here with us; we love you and will miss you. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation in Marie's honour be made to the Breast Cancer Society or the Winnipeg Humane Society. Mama, you called us your angels, now you are ours. Watch over and protect us. We will always remember how you loved us and miss all the great crazy times together. We will see and play with you in our dreams. Love you always, Laurynn and Juleah.
