CARMINE ANTONIO (TONY) PEPE June 1, 1938 - September 5, 2007 With deep sorrow and sadness we announce that Tony Pepe has left our world of suffering to be in eternal peace on September 5, 2007, at the age of 69 years. Tony was predeceased by his parents Giovanni and Maria Gerarda, brothers Giuseppe and Salvatore. Remaining to forever cherish Tony's memory are his loving wife Rina, daughters Rosa (Alex), Laura (Nano), grandchildren Daniella, Christopher, Michael, Marco, Melissa, Zavier and extended family, relatives and friends. Tony was born in Muro Lucano, Italy. In September of 1968, one month after marrying his devoted wife Rina of 39 years, they immigrated to Canada to start their new life together. Eventually securing employment with Motor Coach Industries, where he worked for 27 years. In 1996 he was forced to retire (due to health issues). Tony had a very strong work ethic, which led him to be a leader. He taught us the value of hard work through his example. Tony was a man with quiet manner, who treated people with dignity and respect. He would say, Respect and you shall be respected. Tony enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. On most early mornings until his health began to fail, you could find him at the corner coffee shop, reading the daily newspaper with a coffee in hand; shortly after he would head down to his favourite longtime club where he enjoyed his chats, his game of cards and watching live soccer games. Along with his passion for soccer he also loved WWE Wrestling. Tony was a spectator for sports. He would channel surf every channel on the TV until he found a sport to watch. He also took great pride in maintaining his home, vegetable garden and his green grass which he admired immensely. Tony's ultimate joy in life was his family, especially his grandchildren. A sincere and heartfelt thank you to all the doctors, nurses and staff at Health Sciences Centre for the care that Tony received during his stay. Your kindness and compassion will never be forgotten. Respecting Tony's wishes cremation has taken place.
