Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWALTER ANTON LEPINSKY After a lengthy but courageous and dignified battle, our dear husband and father, Walter, aged 80, passed away on August 2, 2007, at St. Boniface Hospital. He is survived by his wife Marion, three sons Richard (wife Aline), Rodger and Raymond, granddaughter Selina (Chris Kuyp), and great-granddaughters Tianna and Talia, and great-grandstepson Josef. He will be remembered by his brothers Stanley and Andrew and their families, his good neighbours and his friends. Walter was predeceased by his parents Mary and Anton (Tony) Lepinsky, brother James, and grandson Nathan. Walter worked for the CNR for 38 years and had engaging stories from his earliest years of track-laying and maintenance gang-cars, to the CNR express, baggage department, and car control. In an era of specialists, he was an avid do-it-yourselfer, conservationist, recycler, auto-mechanic, genealogist, accountant, and more. Walter was born in Fort Frances, Ontario, and married Marion on November 25, 1948. They built their home in Winnipeg in the 1950s and lived in it for the duration of his lifetime Walter lived a neighbourly and thoughtful life and will be remembered for his quick wit and clever puns. Cremation has taken place and an informal gathering in honour of Wally's life will take place at St. Stephen's Church, 220 Helmsdale Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R2K 0V9, on September 26, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place in the family plot, Riverview Cemetery, Fort Frances, Ontario, September 28 at 10:00 a.m., followed by lunch at the former CN Station. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the Access Centre, Respite Care, homecare, St. Boniface Palliative Care staff, and especially the entire St. Stephen's Church family. Gifts of remembrance in lieu of flowers would be gratefully received at St. Boniface Hospital Foundation (Palliative Care), 409 Tache Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6, or to St. Stephen's Church, 220 Helmsdale Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R2K 0V9.
