Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHUGH CAMPBELL BLACK (CAM) 1923 - 2007 It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Cam at Grace Hospital on September 6, 2007. He is survived by his devoted wife Margaret, daughter Carol (Bill) Mississauga, ON, son Don (Marg) and six grandchildren Jason, Jeff, Lauren Moir, Charyl (Neil McKinlay), Trevor and Steve Black, also one great-grandchild, Paige McKinlay, nieces and nephews, as well as many good friends. Cam and Marg were married in 1948 and were to celebrate 59 years in October. He was predeceased by his parents, brother George and sister-in-law, Betty. He was a very kind, moral and good-natured man who loved his family. His church was very important to him. He was an elder at St. James Presbyterian Church and on the inactive list the last few years due to his ill health. He had 38 years of loyal service with the Canadian Grain Commission, retiring in 1980. He enjoyed his work and the friendships he made with the staff. He was so proud of the mill he built before retiring. Many papers on milling research for C.G.C. had Hugh's name on them. He served in the RCAF, 162 Squadron in Iceland during the war. Living in St. James all his life, was very active at Border C. Club and was a Director for the St. James Canadians Jr. Hockey team. He enjoyed his years of retirement at their summer cottage in Lac Du Bonnet and vacationing with good friends in Florida in the winter. Marg and Cam enjoyed many cruises. Their 50th Anniversary trip to Australia and New Zealand was one of his favourites, along with a European trip with friends Dora and Art Moir and Norah and Murray Crawford. Visits to see cousins in Scotland were also special. The family would like to thank the staff at Deer Lodge Centre T4 for their care where Cam recently resided. Special thanks to Reverend Dick Gillanders for his many visits to Cam during his illness. Thank you also to Grace Hospital nursing staff on the 5th floor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. James Presbyterian Church or a charity of your choice. A memorial service will be held Monday, September 10, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. at the St. James Presbyterian Church, 1476 Portage Ave. across from Polo Park. To love a dad and then to part is the greatest trial to the human heart, God in heaven hear our prayer, Guard our father with tender care Be a good Shepherd don't leave him alone Love him as we loved him When he was at home.
