Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGORDON PENNER July 14, 1941 September 5, 2007 It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our father Gordon Penner on September 5, 2007. Gord was born on July 14, 1941 in Halbstadt, MB. He spent his childhood in Steinbach and Altona, MB. He married Carol Braun in Altona and then moved to Glenboro, MB where they farmed and raised their two daughters, Shanley and Tobey. In 1991 Gord moved to Calgary where he worked for a pipeline company. Last year he retired to Rolling Hills, AB. He loved getting together with family and friends. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart. Gord was a true outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, boating, waterskiing, snowmobiling, camping. His great passion in retirement was fishing and spending time with his dog. He took pleasure in fixing things and was always happy to help anyone who needed a hand. Gord is predeceased by his parents, Jake and Peggy Penner and his brother Bob Penner. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Shanley Redekopp (Frank), Tobey Fuller (Dean) and his grandchildren, Blake, Nicole, Mitchell and Sam; sister Marrianne Penner (Roy); brothers, Lloyd Penner (Cherri) and Larry Penner (Kathy); sister-in-law Sandra Penner and his many relatives and friends. Gord's family would like to extend their thanks to the medical staff in Calgary, Medicine Hat and Brooks, AB for the care Gord received. We would also like to extend our thanks to Gord's special friends, Clare Fergusson and Joe Bear in Rolling Hills, AB for their wonderful kindness and help at this difficult time. A celebration of Gord's life will be held at the Mosaic Funeral Chapel at 1839 Inkster Blvd. in Winnipeg, MB on September 11, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Canadian Diabetes or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
