Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySOLBORG (SOLLY) SIGUREY EAMENS It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Solborg Eamens on Wednesday, September 5, 2007, at the Grace Hospital surrounded by her family at the age of 88 years. Remaining to forever cherish Solly's memory are her daughter Lorraine Patterson; son-in-law Bruce; and grandsons, Blair and Brett, all of Calgary; sisters, Anna Hargreavs, Disa Brown, Julie Zatorsky, Ruby Cowan (Ervin), Jeanie MacKenzie, Margie Steven (Tom); brother Don Goodman; brother-in-law Jack Taylor; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. She was predeceased by her husband Alan in 1990; father Julius; mother Bjorg; brother Bob Goodman; sisters Freda Johnson Henning, Lily Smith, Bella Taylor and a sister in infancy. Solly was born in 1918 in Gimli, Manitoba, where her parents made their home after emigrating from Iceland. She was very proud of her Icelandic heritage. Solly was a caring person with a great sense of humour. She loved art and painting and was a member of the Charleswood Art Group. At the age of 18 she had her own beauty salon in St. James for many years and was well known. Public viewing will be held on Monday, September 10, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memories, in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Avenue at Sharp Boulevard. A private family burial will take place in St. James Anglican Cemetery, where Solly will be buried next to her husband Alan. On Tuesday, September 11, Solly's funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the Charleswood United Church, 4820 Roblin Blvd. at Dieppe Road, with Rev. Joanne Kury, presider.
