JOYCE MELNYK (ODDLEIFSON) Joyce passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at the Kildonan Personal Care Centre. Joyce (nee Oddleifson) was born November 5, 1932 in Arborg, MB. Joyce spent her youth in Arborg. She was very sports minded and especially enjoyed curling in which she participated in all her life. Joyce married Walter Melnyk on November 10, 1951. Joyce and Walter lived in Arborg until moving to Winnipeg in 1956. Joyce was a life long homemaker, she so loved to have her entire family around her for a meal and lots of laughs. In 1966 Joyce began her career as a floral designer at Kelvin Florist. Her passion for flowers led her to establish her own business at Leila Flowers and Gifts. In 1972 Joyce and Walter built the home of their dreams in Birds Hill, MB where they lived for the next 25 years. Joyce and Walter's door was always open to everyone, where both family and friends shared many happy times, where many loving and lasting memories were made. Joyce was predeceased by her husband Walter, father Jim (Gestur), mother Minnie (Koblun) and her brother Harold. Joyce is survived by her sister Audrey Oddleifson, daughter Wendy (Cecil) Sigvaldason, sons, Wayne (Barb), Bruce (Catherine) and Kevin (Lynne). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Wade (Merrilee), Keith (Pam), Trevor, Bradley, Brandy (Bill), Kristy, Theo, Andrew, Colleen and Jacob, great-grandchildren, Brooke, Kirsten, Bryce and Leif. Joyce is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Joyce was Grandma to many and will be greatly missed by all. Viewing for family and friends will be held Sunday, September 9, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave. (entrance on Aubrey). Interment will be in the Haga Cemetery, east of Arborg, on Monday, September 10, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. A memorial service celebrating her life will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Abundant Life Lutheran Church, 3486 Raleigh St. (Raleigh at Rebeck Rd.), Birds Hill, MB with Pastor Bob Jacob officiating.
