Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNALEA MITCHELL Peacefully on September 6, 2007 at Grace Hospital with closest friend, Becky and husband Jim, holding her hands. Annalea is survived by her husband Jim Beckta and son Paul; brothers, Elmer and Norman, and sister Dorothy. Annalea grew up in Charleswood where she went to school. She graduated from the University of Manitoba with a degree in Political Science. Since 1971 she has worked for the Ed Schreyer, Howard Pawley and Gary Doer governments, the New Democratic Party and the Canadian Diabetes Association. She went to Tanzania with CUSO in 1987 where she met Jim. They were married in 1988. Paul was born in Winnipeg in 1989. Annalea's joy in life came from her family and many, many friends. (And beaches. But she didn't like deer. They ate her flowers.) She will be greatly, greatly missed. Memorial Service will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. on Friday, September 14 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Manitoba Interfaith Immigration Council, 397 Carlton St. Winnipeg R3B 2K9.
