ISABEL ANN MEIER (nee SINCLAIR) It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, sister and aunt on September 6, 2007 at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 84, after a brief illness with cancer. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Jeannie (Harry), Donna (Ron), Karen (Glenn), Kelly (Dave) and her best friend of 17 years Sport. Grandchildren, Shelley (Keri), Daun, Glenn, Lori (James), John (Nicole), Leigh-Ann (Scott) and Joni; 12 great-grandchildren; sister Katherine; brother Eric (Eliza); sister-in-law June, numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. She was predeceased by her husband John; parents, Jeannie and Albert Sinclair; sisters, Mabel, Mary, Rosalie and Jane Mary. Brothers, Charlie, Joseph and at infancy Allen and John Albert. Mom was born January 14, 1923 in Cross Lake, MB and attended the Norway House Indian Residential School. She came to Winnipeg at the age of 16 and her first job was working as a waitress at the Exchange Cafe and many other restaurants over the years. She later started to work for Medical Services as an interpreter for the cree patients until retiring at the young age of 70. She was a very caring and giving lady who will missed by many. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Team for the excellent care and comfort given to her on her final journey home. Mom's final wish to be cremated has taken place and a memorial service will be held at the Knysh Funeral Chapel at 1020 Main Street, on Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Don McIntyre officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society or a charity of your choice.
