GLORIA LEMAY-PLESNIARSKI It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, Gloria Lemay-Plesniarski. Gloria passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 9, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, John, a strong spark of joy in her life and a large combined family including 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, whom she loved dearly and was very proud of. She was predeceased by her first husband, Alfred, her sister Lillian, and her parents. Gloria was a curious soul and adventurer, which led her to a study of the mysteries of life. She graduated from St. Mary's Academy in 1959 and went on to earn her Masters Degree in Social Work at the University of Manitoba. Dedicated to helping the lives of others, she worked with pride during her career with Child and Family Services. Finding great comfort in her faith, Gloria led by example and volunteered for over five years as a Minister of Holy Communion at St. Boniface Hospital. Her many friends, family, and her spiritual strength carried her in peace until the end of her life and the start of her journey into the afterlife. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Riverview Health Centre, St. Boniface General Hospital, and the Home Care staff for their kind hearts and gentle care of Gloria during her illness. Prayers will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. at Inkster. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave. with Rev. Fr. Gary Killen officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gloria's memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 200-310 Broadway. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
